Mr. Justice Reed will leave Auckland after the weekend for Hamilton to preside at the sittings of the Supreme Court.
Mr. Justice Fair will leave Wellington tomorrow afternoon for Auckland.
Mr. A. Turner, supervisor of imported fruit for the Internal Marketing Department, arrived from Auckland today.
Mr. Allan J. Moody, chairman of the Auckland Hospital Board, arrived today to discuss matters affecting the board with the Minister of Health (the Hon. P. Fraser).
Mr. P. Martin Smith, director of tutorial classes of the Workers' Educational Association, arrived from Auckland today by the Limited express. He will attend the second meeting of the National Council of Adult Education.
Mr. F. C. Jacobs, resident engineer of the Auckland Hospital and president of the New Zealand Hospitals Engineers' Association, will arrive at Wellington tomorrow to attend a meeting of the executive of the association.
The Rev. H. J. Ryburn, minister of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Dunedin, who has been conducting a mission at Auckland University College under the auspices of the Students' Christian Movement, arrived by the Limited express today on his way to Christchurch, where he will conduct a similar mission at Canterbury College.
Mr. D. A. Ewen was last evening elected chairman and Mr. C. E. Dowland treasurer of the Hutt Valley High School Board of Governors.
The appointment of Mr. M. F. Vigeveno as vice-consul of the Netherlands at Wellington has been recognised, states a Gazette notice.
Mr. G. R. Ashbridge, A.C.1.5., A.R.A.N.Z., Chartered Secretary (Eng.), general secretary of the New Zealand Educational Institute who last August was given a year's leave of absence to enable him to proceed overseas on a Carnegie Visitors' Grant, wa's weclomed back to New Zealand at a recent meeting of the full executive of the N.Z.E.I. Mr. Ashbridge, who was given every opportunity by educational and professional bodies in England and in America to further his investigations, is now at work on his report which should be a valuable contribution to the solution of some of New Zealand's educational problems. Mr. Ashbridge will resume duty in ' August.
