PARLIAMENT
HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
The House of Eepresentatives met' at 2.30 o'clock this afternoon. Mr. H. S. S. Kyle (National, Riccarton) gave notice to ask the Acting Minister in Charge of Broadcasting! whether he would take effective steps to. censor the matter that was being put over the air from 2ZB on Sunday evenings so that the station might be debarred from turning an alleged religious meeting into broadcasting a political party's propaganda. "The Government has denied the right of the Christian churches to expose Communism as the enemy of Christianity over the radio," said Mr. Kyle, "but the churches have the right to expect protection against the radio being tjsed under the cloak of religion to preach Socialism and Government policy." ! The Speaker pointed out that the question was mostly an expression of opinion, and would have to be revised. (Proceeding.) _ ! •
