MAN FOUND SHOT
WELL-KNOWN FOOTBALLER
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) TAURANGA, This Day,
Peter Sander, a well-known Tauranga football representative, was found dead behind the rifle butts at Sulphur Point this morning. It is evident that Sander attached a string to the trigger of a shotgun and the other end of the string to a bolt on an upright at the back of the butts and pulled it, inflicting a fatal wound in the chest. Dr. J. Mark said that death vras instantaneous. Sander, who was 24 years of age, was secretary of the fire brigade. He was a plasterer by trade and did not return home last night. His car was noticed outside the butts in the early morning, but little importance was attached to this. It. is understood that Sander, left several communications.
