NEW ZEALAND HEMP IN LONDON

Wigglesworth and Co., fibre brokers, London, reporting last month on the London market <for New Zealand hemp and tow, observed that "a number of mills closed for the season, but others offered their remaining stocks at prices which proved attractive. The quantities available, however, are not large, and it is suggested that some millers may not reopen unless further Government support or higher values make it worth while. Quotations are:—-Good fair, £20 per ton; high point fair, £18 15s; fair, £17 ss; common, £16 ss; rejected, £15 10s; No. 3 tow, £12 10s. These prices are for June-July shipment,, c.i.f. London basis."
