FROM THE SIDELINE

PLAYERS AND THE GAMES

Against Technical Old Boys, Waterside had a day out, being never seriously threatened and winning easily by 7 goals to 2. Individually no one player was outstanding, the whole eleven going well.

In goal for Waterside S. Ward played well. He was never bustled and his eleax*ances were confident and clean. His namesake in the Waterside forward line was not so competent, missing more than one easy shot at goal.

Punctuality is evidently not a virtue of some of the Technical Old Boys players. Their game against Waterside was a few minutes late in starting because Old Boys did not have a full team, and they were still only nine strong when the referee set the play going. The twx> stragglers arrived several minutes late, one after the other, with a good interval between.

Liddicoat and Stewart, on the left wing, were the best of a promising Technical forward line, and much of their success was due to the intelligent support they received from N. Gates at left half and A. Gates at centre.

In goal for Technical, Redmond did much good work, but on occasions his actions were inclined to be reckless.

Seatoun's forwards were in great form in their match against Scottish Wanderers. D. Yeoman was in a goalkicking mood, scoring no less than five goals.

At centre-half for Seatoun Boyes gave a nice display. His goal was a good effort. Whiting played a sound game.

Jackson (goalie for Scottish Wanderers) came through a hard day's work with credit. •» ft Vc ' ■:=

McCallum and Cunningham (Scottish Wanderers) were magnificent in defence, breaking up Seatoun's attacks time after time.
