HIDES AND SKINS SALE
The fortnightly sale of hides and sheepskins was held by Wellington brokers yesterday before a larger number of buyers than usual. Competition was again keen, and prices for sheepskins showed a n increase of fd to Id per 1b on the last sale. Both cow and ox hides, together with light yearlings and calfskins, appreciated in value & whilst heavy yearlings were Jd better than a fortnight ago. -me ratlge of rice 4 follows:— Dry Sheepskins.—Halfbred, 7|d to 9d a f b . fine crossbred, 6?d to Bfd; mod. ium 6d to 83d; coa rse, 7d to B£d: halfwools, ,s|d to Bid; quarter-woofs, 32d to 7d; pelts, 2fd to 4*d Salted Skins.—Half -wo ols, 3s' to 3s 9d each; three-quarter-wools, ss; full wools, 6s Id. .
