MINISTERS AND DIVORCE
(By Telegraph.) (Special to the "Evening Post.") "DXJNEDIKT, This Bay. Whether reliance should be placed on the personal judgment of a minis- ; ter of the Presbyterian Church, to either refuse or consent .to marry divorced persons, or whether there should be a definite and uniform set of rules for his guidance, was discussed by the Dunedin Presbytery after the public questions committee had intimated that'it disapproved -of clauses in the blue book relating to the laws of marriage and divorce and asking the. presbytery's opinion t>f thern^ The presbytery considered there was a distinct conflict of clear thought when the clauses were taken together, as It was indecisive as to who or whom was not eligible to remarry. Accordingly each clause was referred back to the committee and they will -be again debated, •at the next meeting in order that an aiiCthoritative*' expression of the ; presbytery's views can be g^ven 5n the form of a remit to the iGeneral Assembly. -■■•■■■•■'.
