HAMILTON, This Day,

The shortage of rolling stock for the carriage of sheep and cattle was the subject of a discussion between representatives of stock firms and the Minister of Agriculture. It was stated that the present number of trucks available was inadequate for the business offering and that a greater number of the H type wa,s desired to eppe with the demand. , . ;

The Minister outlined the present position and described what the Railway Department was doing to cope with the shortage. He said that he would place the request before the Minister of Railways.

It was also asked that rebates of freight be granted on carriage to the freezing works of eczema-affected sheep that were later condemned. The Minister undertook to place this before the Minister of Railways and the Minister of Finance.
