SATURDAY'S MATCHES
St. George had a very big win. over Central in the Wellington Rugby League senior competition on Saturday afternoon, St. George^ piling- up--54' points to 2 by Central1. The other senior game between Newtown and Petorte was not played. Petone have wen the senior championship. The St. George-Central game was played at Newtown Park.
The teams were:— - • Central. —J. Marshall, H. McFarlane, H. Greenall, Daily, Burnett, O'Halloran, Harvey r Cummings, Harwood, Patterson,. Steele, B. Bailey, Mailman. , St. George.—W. Spencer, & Broomfield, H. Eady, C. Mulholland, T. Cooke, F. Bouzaid, H. Robinson-, A. Swanberg; D. Mustehm.. J. Rennie, N. Moisley, E. Karen, E. Simmons. St. George owed1 their advantage, to the superiority of the backs. Bouzaid, a promoted reserve grade player played particularly good football. The game itself was- an open one, but Central seemed unable to cope with the St. George tactics. As a result they had 19- points scored against them halfway through the spell. Towards the end. however, they rallied and succeeded in stopping several promising movements by St. George. The score at half-time was' St.. George 27, Central

Q'Halloran kicked a penalty for Central. The referee was Mr. W. E. Simpson.
