DUNEDIN, July 2. A profit of £44,969 is reported by A. and T. Burt, Limited, for the year. The directors' report states that in last year's balance-sheet a credit balance of £11,985 Is 10d. was shown in profit and loss appropriation account before making provision for income tax. After payment of income tax, two years' preference dividend, and recrediting the balance of deposit in interest suspense account (which is not now required), there was a debit balance of resulted in a profit of £44,968 14s 7d v^,i^ n^? vl d, leave a credit balance of £42,999 4s 7d m profit and loss account subject to payment of income tax.
