Competition fees realised £12 6s, and profit from refreshments amounted to £5 12s lOd. Tournaments and special play pro* duced £42 15s lid. Special efforts m aid of painting of pavilion realised £48 Is Bd. The balance-sheet shows an excess of expenditure over income of £27 7s, this being largely due to unusual expenses under the item repairs and replacements £22 10s 9d (new rubber mats, renewal of outdoor seats, and essential plumbing repairs). The season proved a splendid one for bowling, and the greens were fully availed of. The consensus of opinion was that the playing qualities of the surface were very good and equal to most of the greens in the centre. Topdressing and sowing were completed in good time, and a genial autumn promoted an excellent sole of grass. Indications at present point to satisfactory prospects for next season.
