PLEASANT CLUB PARTY

The Pioneer Club was a very bright and pleasant place yesterday afternoon when the monthly meeting of members was held arid a programme was presented by Mrs. J. A. Doctor. A large green porcelain jar of Iceland poppies was reflected in, the polished wood of the piano, and well-arranged groups of foliage were at the corners of the room and at the wide open folding doors. The mantelpiece had crystal vases with yellow narcissi, and other spring flowers were in bowls about the room.

Delicious tea and savouries were served from the club kitchen, and later Mrs. Eggers (soprano) and Mrs. Ballinger (contralto) sang, both having enthusiastic receptions and encores. Mrs. Doctor played the accompaniments artistically. Miss Marguerite Thompson gave some delightful recitations, these being composed by Mrs. Joye Taylor.

The brief programme gave all present much pleasure, and the performers were cordially thanked, first by Miss Kane (president) and later by those present.
