"Asked about Press: reports ,of remarks made by the Japanese official spokesman at Shanghai regarding foreign extraterritorial rights in China; Mr. R. A. Butler, Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs, told the House of Commons today that Lord Halifax, Foreign Secretary,,had instructed the British Ambassador in Tbkio to take up the matter with Japan. '
