An international jury of literary men, of which Mr. T. S. Eliot was the British representative, convened on the invitation of the Portuguese Government in Lisbon, has awarded the Camoens Prize to M. Gonzaque de Reynold, a Swiss, for his book "Portugal." The prize is worth •£lB2, and is offered every other year for the best literary or scientific work on Portugal by a foreign author published in French, English, German, Spanish, or Italian.
