I Mr. C. T. Halstead, of Auckland,, [manager in New Zealand for the Pacific Cable-Board, arrived in Wellington by;) the Limited express this morning oni a business visit. He will return to' Auckland this evening.
Mr. J. H. Luxford, S.M., returned tan Wellington this morning from Auck-1 land, where he has been assisting in the work of the Magistrate's Court.
Mr. Frank Mitchinson, of Raetahi,, is on a visit to Wellington. In hisj playing days he was a prominent Wei-. lington and New Zealand Rugby representative.
Messrs. Sid/'King, of the Sydney"Daily Telegraph;" and-Keith Hardie, 1 |of the-"Sydney Morning Herald" are! visiting Wellington. They are reporting to their papers upon the cbmingl visit of the New Zealand Rugby team! to Australia, and will travel to Syd-, ney with the team; which leaves next Thursday. Mr. King is a former Australian Rugby representative.
Motions of sympathy with the relatives of the late Messrs. G. T. Bayly (a former president of the New; Zealand Rugby Union) : and C. A. Mathieson (at one time a member of the N.Z.R.U. executive), 1 were passed at last night's meeting of the . New Zealand Rugby Union's" executive. The chairman (Mr. S, S. Dean), made reference to the services given to the game by Messrs. Bayly arid Mathieson.
