ARRESTED ON SHIP
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, June 27. An intending passenger by the liner Mariposa, which left Auckland tonight for San Francisco, was brought ashore shortly before the vessel's departure under a warrant of arrest from Sydney. The arrest, made by Detective Moore, was a particularly smart one. Acting on advice received about an hour before the Mariposa's sailing time, he found the passenger, working only on the particulars of identification, from more than 400 travellers in the liner. The man will be charged in the Magistrate's Court tomorrow with alleged theft, and application will be made for his extradition to Australia.
