TOMMY DUNN BEATEN

In a brilliant exhibition of fast and snappy boxing, Norman Fisher was given a decision en points over Tommy Dunn, of Wellington, at Christchurch last Saturday. Both men are provincial champions, and the bout was worth going a long way to see. Fisher, with all his usual cleverness, was aggressive, and at the same time hard to hit. But he was against an opponent of equal skill. Game under punishment and fast hitting, Dunn took the last two rounds, but apparently did not quite make up the leeway established by Fisher in the earlier rounds. The decision got a mixed reception. Many of the huge crowd would have liked a draw better. Whatever the result, it was a clever bout between two wellmatched young boxers.
