SEATOUN CLUB
Last year was the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Seatoun Bowling Club, states the annual report of the club, and special prominence was given to that feature on opening day. A cout siderable number of original members was present and the green was officially declared open by the Hon. R. Semple, M.P. The membership of the club at the beginning of the season was 62 and this was reduced by three during the year by the deaths of Messrs. A. H. Wright and J. Marshall and the resignation because of ill health of Mr. T. Williams. The club competitions were won by the following: Crawford Cup (singles), .1. McMillan, pah's E. M. Bardsley and E. J. Paton, rinks J. R. Williams, W. L. Page, P. A. South, and H. A. Snelling; junior singles, D. Philp; handicap singles, E. J. Glennie and A. Gowans to play final. Because both Hataitai and Newtown Clubs introduced Sunday play during the year the contests lor the Page trophy were not so keen as in former years, but some good games were played, and Hataitai eventually won the trophy. The advisability of changing the club colours may be brought forward by the directors at the annual general meeting on Monday night. i
