NEW LYNN ASSAULT
YOUTH INTERROGATED (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, This Day. Detectives visited a house at Ellerslie at 2 o'clock this morning, questioned a youth, and took him to the detective office for further interrogation as he was under 17 years of age and not liable to arrest. The investigation was connected with the assault on an elderly New Lynn storekeeper who was hit on the head with a blacksmith's hammer lying, on his counter. The youth was sent to the Mount Albert Boys' Home pending a charge before the Children's Court.
