"The national recording lt scheme initiated and controlled by the Department of Agriculture had been closely watched," said Mr. Russell, "and it was greatly due to the progressive spirit of the council that control of the scheme was being moulded in the way that made it worth while and at- - tractive to all breeders." 5 Mr. J. Raynes (Patumahoe) was de- " clared elected for the Auckland ward. - The other councillors elected were:— - Messrs. D. G. Morrison (North Aucki land), D. S. Ross (Bay of Plenty), and - W. L. West (Hawke's Bay). At a sub- - sequent meeting of the new council s Mr. Ross was elected president, Messrs. " A. R. Guddop (North Taranaki), and I W. P.
