REPUBLICAN SPAIN THE PREMIER DISGUSTED BARCELONA, June 21. The Prime Minister (Senor Negrin) ~ returning from' a fortnight's tour of the Levante territory, told newspaper correspondents he was disgusted to find that during his absence there had been underhand political machinations. "There are apparently persons among \ us," he said, "so cowardly that they do" not hesitate at treason and, while encouraging internal distrust, intrigue abroad for us to be asphyxiated." He added that if the mass of the people and the army got to know what was going on they would rise and sweep away all politicians, and with justice. But this was not a moment to . divert the nation's .energies. It would be necessary to wait some time before engaging in a thorough cleanup.

WITHDRAWAL PROPOSALS
PROSPECT OF AGREEMENT

The Non-intervention Committee considered Lord Plymouth's'proposals for the withdrawal of volunteers and the reimposition of control point by point, and it is stated that there is an excellent prospect of agreement. Britain is satisfied that the French frontier is now effectively closed.

M. FLANDIN'S ACCUSATION
PARIS, June 21,
Broadcasting this morning, M. Flan- | din, a* former French Premier, repeated the accusation that, as a result of a secret decision by the Blum Government, at least 25,000 tons of war material crossed the Franco-Spanish frbntier in April and May for delivery to the republican forces.
BOMBING OF SHIPS
DISCUSSION IN COMMONS (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, June 2a The Foreign Office vote is to be taken in the House of Commons tomorrow, when the discussion is likely to be directed principally to the recent bombarding of British ships in Spanish waters and the situation in Spain in relation to the Anglo-Italian agreement.
NATIONALIST BOMBINGS
LONDON, June 21. It is revealed that during the bombing of the British steamer Thorpe'Bay, the second officer, Antonio Peres,* was wounded.
The nationalists announce further successful bombings of Garidia, Denia, Valencia, and Barcelona, a big Are being caused at Uprcelona.
