Broken Hill Proprietary Co., Ltd., figures, for the last four-weekly production period of the financial year ended May 31 show that the company achieved a considerable increase in output for the full year compared with the 1936-37 period. Steel ingots amounted to the record total of 854,401 tons, against 783,138 tons in the preceding year. The rise in output of pig iron was not so marked, 674,142 tons produced comparing with 662,522 tens in .1936-37. . The figures are for the fifty-two weeks ended June 5.
