THE ENGLISH BIBLE

"English Freedom and the English Bible" will be dealt with at a special meeting to be held in the Terrace Con-

gregational Church, Bowen Street, tomorrow at 7.45 p.m. This is part of the celebrations of the 400 th anniversary of the placing of the English Bible by the King's order in all the parish churches of England. Miss Irene Wilson, the, principal of Queen Margaret College, will speak on "The Bible in English Life ■ and Thought," and the Rev. H. J. Ryburn, of Dunedin, will deal with "The Bible, the Word of God." The Rev. H. W. Newell will preside, and Miss Bowen will render on the organ Bach's "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring."
