SATURDAY'S GAMES
A strong northerly made shooting difficult in the Wellington Basketball Association's competitions on Saturday. Several games were stopped on account of the rain. Most' interest centred on the game between Kia Ora and Wellington East Old Girls, the two leading teams. After a very even and exciting game, the match ended in a draw, the score being 11-all. The results of Saturday's games are as follows:— Senior A.—University 18. Awatea 16; Kia Ora 11, Wellington East 11; Dental Clinic 8, Wellington T.O.G. 4 (halftime, not completed); Training College, a bye. Senior B.—lsland Bay A 28, Training College 10; Furlor 18, University 6; Aspro 19, Y.W.C.A. 10; Wellington East 19. "Lesley lb; Kia Ora 18, Wellington College 9; Island Bay B 16, St. Joseph!? 4. Third Grada. —Section 1: St. Patrick's 21, Wellington East A 14. Section 2: Taupo A 19, Wellwool 12: Soma 9, Roseneath 8; Awatea, a bye. Section 3: Olympic 17, Y.W.C.A. Tui 13; Poneke 18. Training College 14; Wembley 20, Wellington East B 9; Taupo B 22, Dental Clinic 8. Fourth Grade.—Section 1: Raw? Leigh's 20, St. Patrick's 11; Y.W.C.A. Kea 19, N.Z. Railways 4; Aitkens 18. Jasco 5. Section 2: Taupo 10, Y.W.C.A. Kiwi 5. Section 3 had a bye. Section 4: St. Joseph's 10, Broadway 7; Bei> hampore A, a bye. > Fourth Grade.—Junior: Pastimes 13L St. Joseph's 12; Wellwool 6, Kia Toi 2 at half-time, not completed. Fifth Grade.—Section 1: Ferguson and Osborn 24, Taupo A 5; Y.W.C.A. Rima 8, Y.W.C.A. Waka 1 (half-time),; St. Patrick's 11, Mount Cook O.S. 7; Guildford 9, Prestige 1 (half-time).. Section 2: Taupo B 10, Abelco 5: Gilbys 5, Thorndon 1 (half-time); St. Francis, a b"e. Representative trials will be held next week as follows:—Senior A and B, at 5.30 p.m., at Drill Hall, on Wednesday. Third grade at 5.30 p.m. Thursday. ~ hutt valley games.
