THREE INJURED

CRASH INTO POLE TELEPHONE LINES DOWN (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, June 19. Serious delay to direct telephonic communication between Auckland and Wellington was caused this afternoon when a motor-car crashed into a roadside pole about a mile south of Taumarunui and brought all the lines down. The three men in the car were all ihjured and the car extensively damaged. Mr. John Jamieson, Taumarunui, was taken to the Taumarunui Hospital suffering from severe injuries to the back. Mr. Thomas Neill was also admitted, suffering from minor injuries. The third man was slightly injured and was not admitted to hospital. The accident happened at about pjn, and it was not until more than four hours later that direct communication with Wellington was restored. The car snapped the pole off near the ground and three circuits which are normally used for communication with Wellington and Palmerston North were broken.
