GAOL FOR MOTORIST
INTOXICATED IN CHARGE
Pleading guilty before Mr. J. H. Luxford, S.M., today to being intoxicated in charge of a car in Clyde Quay on Saturday afternoon, William Henry Black, a labourer, aged 60, of Porlrua, was sentenced to fourteen days' imprisonment. Sub-Inspector J. A. Dempsey said that only after nineteen telephone calls had been made in endeavours to get in touch with doctprs were the police able to obtain a medical man to examine Black. Saturday afternoon was a difficult time to obtain a doctor, and fifty minutes elapsed after the accused's arrival at j the police station before he was' examined. The doctor certified that lie was not in a fit state to drive a car.
