WOMEN'S HOCKEY
SATURDAY'S GAMES T.0.G.1 AND C.O.G. DRAW Grounds wore inclined to bs slippery on Saturday 'afternoon for the fifth series of the Wellington Women's Hockey Association's competitions, but a good standard of play was maintained. THE DAY'S RESULTS. I The results were:— Senior A.—Hutt 9, University 1; T.O g (1> 2> C -°- a 2: Poneke Hutt V Semo?' 8.-St. Joseph's 7, Wenerei 1- Karori West, a bye; College Old dirls 2, Upper Hutt 1; P.T.O.G. won by default from Clinic. Juniors.—T.O.G. 3, St Joseph's 3; C.OG. 2, Hutt Valley 0; Y.W.C.A. 3, Huia 1; Upper Hutt 4, P.T.O.G. 1; University, a bye. Intermediates and Thirds.—Technical B 4, Hutt Valley 3; Huia v. P.T.0.G., not played; Technical A 11, T.O.G. 0; Upper Hutt 3, Training College 0. A DRAWN GAME. C.O.G. and T.O.G. I provided fast and polished hockey in their match at Kilbirnie, and played the most inter-
esting match of the season. Although the teams were fairly evenly matched, T O G. I appeared to have a slight advantage, but were unable to use their opportunities to the full. Miss E. unc ® cave T.O.G. I their first goal, after a neat movement from the right wing. CO.G. equalised towards the end ot the spell, Miss H. McLellan being the scorer. , Early in the second spell Miss M. Clarke scored C.O.G.'s second goal, but some hard play Miss J. Mack equalised for T.O.G. I. Both sides tried hard to gain the lead, but the defence in each case was sound. The umpire was Miss M. Wilkins. HUTT VALLEY BEAT TRAINING COLLEGE. An improvement in form was shown by Hutt Valley when they beat Training College at Newtown Park. The game tended to be ragged. Hutt Valley's first goal was scored by Miss M. Owen. The other two goals were netted by Misses A. Anderson and B. Strang. The umpire was Mr. A. Roxburgh. PONEKE WIN. Although T.O.G. II played a splendid game at Newtown Park, gained a one-goal victory. The goal was scored by Miss M. Gunson after a good forward movement. Prominent nlavers were Miss J. Peterson, who Slaved ift goal for T.O.G. 11, and Miss J Riley, left-wing for Poneke. Mr. A. Roxburgh was the umpire. HUTT UNITED TOO GOOD. Hutt United were too good for Uni- ' versity at Karori Park, and won after ! an easy game. University soared to j first goal of the season.
