ASSAULTED A CONSTABLE
Charged wiht assaulting a "police constable in the execution of his duty, Robert Ward, a carpenter, aged 29, appeared before Mr. J. H. Luxford, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court today. Sub-Inspector D. A. McLean, who prosecuted, said the accused had been warned by a constable to go home, but later came back and struck the constable on the neck, knocking off his helmet.
Ward .was convicted, and lined £10 on the assault charge, and! for using indecent language he was convicted and discharged.
