THE REPLACEMENT RULE

QUESTION OF INTERPRETATION

The application of the replacement rule was the subject of an interesting discussion at this week's meeting of the management committee of the Wellington Football Association, which had its attention drawn by th e Waterside Club to the fact that in the Seatoun-Waterside game last week a Seatoun player replacing an injured team-mate had come on the field of play three minutes after the start of the second spell. The rule says that replacements' of injured players must be made up to and including the start of the second half.
