NGAIO MEETING

The Rev. W. J. Durrad presided'at the annual meeting, of the Ngaio branch of the British and Foreign' Bible Society. The Rev. N. Larson took part in the devotional exercises. Quite a number of collectors and interested friends were present. Mr. Duhrard spoke of the marvellous fascination of the Bible and how little St. Paul realised in his day that the time would come when his letters would be translated into hundreds of different languages and be carried to the uttermost parts of the world. Mrs. Lynneburg, who for fourteen years has been' a foremost worker in Ngaio, was re-elected president of the branch. Associated with her as vicepresidents are Mesdames Durrad, Clark, and Davies. Mrs. Humphreys was elected secretary and treasurer. The collectors for this year include Mesdames Bringans, Bradley, Clark, Davies, McLeod, Moran, Simpson, and Shepherd, and Miss Browne. Mrs. Lynneburg spoke appreciatively of the fine work done by the collectors. A solo by Mrs. Fettes was, much enjoyed. Afternoon tea was served, after which Miss Fawcett gave an address on the work of the Bible Society. Mr. Durrad expressed the thanks.of all to Miss Fawcett, Mrs. Fettes, and the ladies who had provided and served the tea. DEDICATION SERVICE. In the Presbyterian Church, Khandallah, yesterday between thirty and forty people gathered for a service of dedication of the . year's collections (£,32 6s 3d) for the Khandallah branch of the British Foreign Bible Society. The, Rev. W. J. Durrad conducted the service, assisted by Miss Fawcett (Bible Society general secretary). In the absence of Mrs. D. D. Scott, president Of the P.W.W.U., who provided afternoon tea in the Sunday schoolroom, the vicepresident, Mrs. Mirams, was hostess.
