BOWLING

CENTRE MEETING

A meeting of the Wellington Bowling Centre was held last evening, Mr. M. J. Casey presiding. It was decided that the annual meeting should be held on July 12. The financial statement showed a credit balance of £112 12s 3d.

A motion that the incoming executive be recommended to revise the constitution of the centre was submitted by Mr. W. Gilbert and carried. The proposal to have a uniform blazer for clubs affiliated to the Wellington centre was warmly supported in a letter from the Newtown Club.

The chairman said the idea was to have a distinguishing club badge on the blazer. The scheme was supported by other clubs besides Newtown, and he had received letters from places throughout the North Island in commendation of the idea. However, it was a matter for the annual meetings of clubs.

The delegates were asked to bring the matter up at their annual meetings, the secretary to write to clubs explaining the proposal. Advice on the system of playing pennants in Queensland, contained in a letter from Mr. Colin Campbell, president of the Queensland Bowling Association, was referred to the incoming executive.
