! Although several heavy showers fell ! during the early hours training operations were carried out at Wingatui in bright sunshine this morning. The ■ inside grass track was available for i fast work. Wild Career, Ardmayle, and Rodeur arrived from Washdyke, [ in charge of W. Anderton, and are the first of the visiting horses to reach ' headquarters. Night Wings and Spanish Lad flni ished on terms over seven furlongs in ; lmin 32 2-ssec, after running the first three along the back in 39 3-ssec. The • former is very well. Astaire and Tupai ! were much wider out when they fin- '■ ished together over six furlongs in lmin 25 2-ssec. Lumiere finished up two rounds of ■ strong pace work by sprinting home the last three furlongs in 41 2-ssec. Wild Career was under restraint while covering three furlongs, in 46 2-ssec. Norseman was not extended to record 45 2-ssec for a similar task. Palastyle traversed four furlongs in 52 2-ssec, handling the heavy going well.
