THE BUTTER BONUS
(To the Editor.)
Sir, —In Friday's "Post" Mr. William Morgan assumes—why, I don't knowthat the Minister of Finance intends to pay' out all the surplus in the Dairy Account. No such statement has been made, and Mr. Nash is hardly likely to refrain from at least balancing the account. Mr. Morgan would have been better advised to have written his letter after the New Plymouth announcement instead of now, and especially as the account is to be considered as a long-range account over a period of years. Mr. Morgan has previously unfavourably criticised the Government's activities in regard to Reserve Bank policy and other matters, but he seems very loath to -put up an alternative policy,; and has not yet told us whether he favours the National Party reverting to the policy of a capitalistic Reserve Bank instead of a Reserve Bank belonging to the people. Perhaps he will answer this question.—! am, etc.,
EQUITY.
