Although rain interfered with some of the county cricket matches which were completed on Friday, outright wins were gained by Middlesex and Lancashire. , Crisp and Pollard were prominent among the bowlers and Hammond and Neale, both of Gloucestershire, made centuries. Middlesex v. Worcester, at Lord's.— Worcestershire 83 and 126 -(Robins three for 28). Middlesex 241 (Crisp seven for 82). Middlesex won by an innings and S2 runs. Surrey v. Gloucestershire, at the Oval.—Surrey 334 (Fishlock 96) and 59 for no wickets. Gloucestershire 443 for eight, declared (Hammond 113, Crapp 84, Neale 107). Gloucestershire won On the first innings. Derbyshire v. Lancashire, at Ilkeston.—Derbyshire 339 (Alderman .96, Smith 110) and 140 (Pollard seven for 53). Lancashire 373 (Iddon 92) and 107 for one (Iddon not out 55). Lancashire won by nine wickets. Somerset v. Sussex, at Taunton. — Sussex 135 (Wellard six for 40) and 108 for two (J. Parks not out 71). Somerset 137. Rain stopped play. Sussex won on the first innings. Cambridge University v. Essex. ;at Cambridge.—Cambridge 218 (Nichols five for 40), and 236 (Yardley 95, Nichols five for 37). Essex 385 (Wilcox 95), and 73 for one. Essex won by nine wickets. Oxford University v. Glamorgan, at Oxford. Glamorgan 159 (Pershke six for 46) and 214 (Duckfield 60); Oxford 188 and 15 for no wickets. Rain stopped play. Match drawo.
