FASHION CONTRASTS
The Duchess of Gloucester, who is president of King's College Hospital, hopes to attend "Fashion Contrasts," an original display of many of Dr. C. Willett Cunnington's magnificent period dresses, together with modern creations, which is to take place under the chairmanship of the Lady Doverdale at the Dorchester on April 4, states "The Queen." . For once a "dress show" will start with luncheon in the ballroom of the Dorchester. At one end of the room a high stage will be erected so that everyone can obtain a perfect view and from it a broad and elevated "joy-plank," on which the wearers of costumes -.vill slowly promenade, will run nearly the whole length of the room.
Dr. C. Willett Cunnington is supplying over ninety dresses from his collection and probably this may be the last opportunity for seeing them actually being worn, as he has offered them to the nation as a complete collection. Should this offer be accepted, they will naturally never again become available in a display.
Lady Doverdale is being supported by Mrs. Muriel Cox. Madame Goukassow, Mrs. Claire Taishoff, and the Lady Waleran as vice-chairman.
