Pressures are falling rapidly in tho south with the approach of a depression across the Tasman Sea, while another depression, moving from tho north, is centred north-west of Norfolk Island. Winds aro still variable in the central areas but have turned north-easterly and freshened in the north, whllo north-westerlies predominate over the southern half of the South Island.
