POLICEWOMEN
(Tb the Editor.) Sir, —An Australian policewoman in stressing the need for women police in New Zealand after describing her own activities, says "we have the same power to arrest as the men." Now, Sir, if that is the desire of our wouldbe applicants, I suggest they ( are not wanted. I understand their duties are ,to deal unostentatiously with the wel'fare of their own sex. However, I still have confidence in our policemen and think we should retain a few of them.—l am, etc., JOHN PEEL.
