OVERLIN READY
Ken Overlin, American middleweight, has informed Stadiums, Ltd. (Australia), that he will be ready to fight Fon Richaras on May 19. From that date unwards he will be ready to fight Henneberry, Palmer, and Sabatino on successive Monday nights. Overlin is a most conscientious trainer. Once having arrived at the top of his condition he considers that frequent fighting is the .best method of keeping fit. He is even willing to fight six-round-ers and ten-rounders nightly at country centres in his preparatory work. Richards wiD be Overlin's first opponent, regardless of the result of the fight at the Sports Arena tonight between Richards and Ray Actis, American light-heavyweight. It is realised that Richards is taking a chance against Actis, but he is middleweight champion of Australia, and is entitled to first match with Overlin. The sympathy of all boxers and boxing fans is extended to Neville Mudgway, whose wife died on the day following Neville's winning of the New Zealand welterweight championship from Stan Jenkin at Oamaru. |
