RELATIVES OF WINNERS
; Two interesting members of E. C. Penman's late workers at Trentham • are a pair of two-year-olds, named Cherokee and Royal Show respective- ; ly. They will not be racing fill next season, but they are a pair who should pay their way in due course. Cherokee is a half-sister to Navaho, hence the name. She is a chestnut, daughter of Colossus, and she is a replica of Navaho in appearance. She will race in the interests of Mr. B. L. Hammond, who has leased her from her breeder, Mr. S. L. Jackson., Royal Show is a brown colt by the Royal Stag horse Royal Shot (sire of Shootist and others) out of the Absurd—Hine Pango mare Raukura, a useful performer in her day, hence he is half-brother to Warehi, with whom Penman found out the secret of winning races. This youngster is held on lease by Penman himself from his breeder, Mr. W. M. D'Ath, of Otaki. ,
