OBITUARY
MRS. F. WALLACE MACKENZIE Very sincere regret wiil be felt by a large circle of friends in Wellington and other places at- the news of the death of Mrs. F. Wallace Mackenzie, of "Inverleith,'* Oriental Parade. She had been resident in Wellington for ovelr thirty years, and made and kept affection in her* friends and acquaintances, for her charm of manner and her wonderful kindness of heart were always delightful. At ber home years ago in Willis Street, and later at "Inverleith," she was a charming hostess, and always took much interest in young people, specially in the earlier days, when ha: home was one of the happiest centres of brightness and pleasantness. - lbs. •I'.; 1 • ■ I' * a cultured woman, with a particularly sweet singing voice, and gave much pleasure, specially with her Scottish songs, in which she was an expert. Always fond of walking, she used to oragnise walking parties among her y'ounger friends, and even as lately as last year was able to enjoy walks around the heights of Roseneath from which she loved the beauties of the harbour and hills of Wellington. , Mrs. Mackenzie formerly was Miss Susan Walker, and, though she. was born in Stirling, spent most of her time in Edinburgh, marrying there before she came to New Zealand. Her family consists of Colonel Eric Mackenzie, M.C., 0.8. E., of Aldershot, who who has two children; Mr. Keith Mackenzie, Oparau, who has two daugh-l ters, and Mrs. Kitty Bedford, Who has I lived in London for many years. Much sympathy will be felt with Mrs. Mackenzie's family in their bereavement. The funeral took place this j morning at Karori.
