COLLIERY DISASTER

DOMINION SYMPATHY The Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage), through his Excellency the Governor-General (Viscount Galway), has forwarded the following telegram of sympathy to the Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs:— "The Government and people of New Zealand have been shocked by the disaster in the Chesterfield colliery, with its grievous loss of life, and desire that their deep sympathy be conveyed to the bereaved relatives and to the injured miners."
