NEW ZEALAND WOMEN

"AT HOME" FOR LADY WILFORD (From "The Post's" Representative.) LONDON, April 23. Members of the New Zealand Women's Association were the hostesses at a very enjoyable "At Home" at the de Vere Hotel, Kensington, in honour of Lady Wilford. The president, Mrs. J. McNaughton Christie, wore a black astrakhan-trimmed ensemble and smart black toque to receive the many members and Dominion visitors who attended the party. Miss M. Orbell, the honorary secretary, was wearing an almond green matt wool suit, with a small matching hat. Lady Wilford, the guest of honour, who is to leave England for New Zealand by the Tainui in June, had a happy time renewing old acquaintances and meeting new friends. She wore a neat edge-to-edge coat over a black frock with a dainty white blousette, feather-trimmed straw hat and furs, and was accompanied by her daughter, Mrs. E. Penrose-FitzGerald. The High Commissioner, Mr. W. J. Jordan, was present with Mrs. Jordan, who wore a becoming model of crepebacked satin, made up with both sides of the material and relieved with a touch of ice-blue satin at the throat. A quill-trimmed black velour hat and furs completed her ensemble. ■ THOSE PRESENTED. I Mrs. Jordan has a busy programme ahead, as she is to accompany tho High Commissioner to Glasgow for the Royal opening of the Empire Exhibition on May 3, and will then have to make preparations for the presentation of New Zealand ladies at their Majesties' Courts during the season. The other day she gave a delightful tea party at New Zealand House for those whom she will present at the first Court, of whom Miss Jean Batten will be one. There will, later be a "married ladies" Court, at which Mrs. Jordan will also make several presentations. The following New Zealanders will be presented at the Court to be held by their Majesties on May 12:—Miss Jean Batten, Miss Noela Cable, Miss April Hargreaves, Miss Meudail Hutchison, Miss Kathleen O'Brien, Miss Nita Reid, Miss Nelle Scanlan, Miss Norah Tipping, and Miss Moixa West. , . *
