CONVEYER'S SMART EFFORT
(Special to the "Evening Post.") PALMERSTON N., This Day. Awapuni stables are well represented at Wanganui, and yesterday's gallops were interesting without being instructive. The course proper was open with the flags well out, and the going was particularly good. Clarion Call, Entheos, Great Hope, and Erebus are already in Wanganui.
Sky Full ran half a mile in 55sec and Puroto beat Silver River over seven furlongs in lmin 35sec, the first four taking 53sec. Both look well. Tail Light beat Pango over six furlongs, completed in lmin 22 2-ssec, without being ridden out. Gay Molly ran an easy six furlongs, covering the last two in 27sec. Cuddler and Prediction were companions over six furlongs and they were moving well to cover the last five in lmin lOsec. Old Surrey sprinted seven furlongs on his own, the last six occupying Imm 24Jsec. High Peer beat Selkirk over five furlongs run in lmin 9sec. Merryman sprinted three furlongs in 39 1-5 sec, moving nicely. . One of the most interesting gallops was the six furlong sprint of Catalogue and Conveyer. Tney went away to -an even start, being timed to run the first two in 26 2-ssec and three in 40 3-ssec. They were together at the home turn, and without being extended completed the distance in lmin 20 sec. Royal Limond and Whistle Pinkie were companions over a mile in lmin 56sec. Royal Limond looks very well. He will be ridden by Alan McDonald at Wanganui. Warehi was just in front of Porotiti at the end of seven furlongs, the last six being run in lmin 21 3-ssec. Sporting Gift just beat Sporting Luck over three furlongs in a tick under 41sec. Power Chief (A. McDonald) had a flutter over the country, giving a good exhibition of jumping over seven of the steeplechase fences. He is undoubtedly improving at the game. Aero Lad and Dainty Sue were tof ether at the end of five furlongs in min Bsec, the first three being covered in 40sec. A newcomer/ to the course yesterday morning was Mr. T. H. Lowry's. three-year-old filly, White Gold, who is now in Mrs. A. W. McDonald's stable. She has not .raced for some considerable time, but she looks to be in very good nick and she should not take long to get back into racing condition. The following riding engagements have been announced for/Wanganui:— S. Anderson, Sir Rabbi and Prince Mulla; C. Thomson, Aurora's Love and. Mozeltove; G. R. Tattersall, 'Conversion, Bodyline, and Dainty Sheila; A.' McDonald, Royal Limond; W. J. Broughton, Black Man, Alunga, Gal-, teemore; N. C. Trillo, Arctic Star, Artful Dodger, Beau Gallante: C. G.
