ATTRACTIVE REST ROOM

Provided by the Christian Alliance of Women and Girls a charming room, situated in Wakefield Chambers at the corner of Wakefield and Taranaki Streets, is meeting a long-felt need among the women and girls of the city. Many pleasant hours are spent by those who avail themselves of the use of the room during the lunch and tea hours or throughout the day. All enjoy the atmosphere of friendliness and homely cheer and the complete rest from the busy duties of the day.

This room is open to all women and girls, free of charge from Mondays to Fridays, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sundays 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. It is bright and cheerful with a magnificent view of harbour and mountains. There are comfortable armchairs and tables, writing materials and books, as well as a piano and gramophone. A cup of tea ijan be obtained for one penny. Every Wednesday and Sunday during the tea hour a sing-song of bright choruses is arranged, followed by a short address by different speakers. Tomorrow the committee will supply the tea will welcome all who will come as their guests. The meetings are interdenominational, the committee responsible for the work being members of the various churches of the city. The Christian Alliance • of Women and Girls is well known throughout the British Isles and is under the patronage of her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth. A warm welcome is extended to all who would like to enjoy the advantages of this delightful rest room.
