Two Wanganui aeroplanes bpund for the New Plymouth air rally on Sunday morning had to return on account of the heavy fog, states "The Post's" representative. Mr. R. J. Franklin, flying his Taylor Cub, made a forced landing some 18 miles from the city, and Miss Jane Winstone returned to Wanganui. Mr. Franklin, after refuelling, set out again in the afternoon, and reached his destination safely.
A new method for cleaning railway coaches is being tried at Potsdam, the coaches being placed in an enormous boiler and given a "Turkish bath."
