ANZAC DAY

CEREMONIAL PARADE

SERVICE AT MEMORIAL

As in past years, a ceremonial militafy parade is to be associated with the Anzac Day service at the War Memorial in Wellington. All units of the New Zealand Military Forces stationed in Wellington city are to take part. The parade will be commanded by Colonel I. T. Standish, C.M.G., D.5.0., R.N.Z.A.

All units are to assemble in the vicinity of the intersection of Bunny Street and Waterloo Quay at 1.50 p.m., and just after 2 p.m. are to march to the front of the War Memorial, where the parade will form up in parallel columns of fours facing the memorial, the frontage being the full width of Lambton Quay, inclusive of both footpaths. The order of march will be: — Artillery Band, sth Field Battery, N.Z.A., 15th Coast Battery, N.Z.A., 19th Medium Battery (How.), 2nd Field Company, N.Z.E., Central Depot N.Z. Corps of Signals, Ist Battalion the Wellington Regiment, 2nd Composite Company, N.Z.A.S.C., 2nd Field Ambulance, N.Z.M.C, Wellington College Cadets, Rongotai College Cadets, Scots College Cadets.

After the service, the arrangements for which are in the hands of the Wellington Returned Soldiers' Association, returned soldiers, followed by the military units keeping the same order of march, will march past the War Memorial in column of fours and thence along Lambton Quay, Willis Street, and Mercer Street to the Town Hall area, where it will dismiss. The bands are to play their units from the assembly area to the corner of Bunny Street and Lambton Quay, and will then cease playing. The Port Nicholson Band will play for the service, and will play all units past the War Memorial, rejoining the column after the cadets. Other bands will play after passing the War Memorial, but not before the Ballance Street intersection. If the day is wet, or if it is probable that rain will fall before the completion of the parade, cadets will not assemble.
