SIR ABB WINS THE SPRINT

WHANGAREI, April 8. The Whangarei Racing Club's Autumn Meeting opened today m fine weather, the track being in excellent order. There was a large attendance, and the totalisator handled £12,5U<5, compared with £14,946 on the corresponding day last year, a decrease of £2444. In the Mclnnes Memorial Handicap a close finish saw Tybalt annex the honours from Grateful and Bonny Gay, and in the Stewards' Handicap, the open sprint, the consistent Sir Abb carried his record further by scoring from Inver and Tosh.
