The Public Service Miniature Rifle Club held its annual meeting on Tuesday of last week. The election of officers resulted as follows:—Patron, Mr. W. Robertson; president, Mr. A. V. G. Watt, N. Wigham, E. J. Witcombe; club captain, Mr. A. R. Craig; vice-vaptain, Mr. E. Vausden; lady captain, Miss J. Cook; secretarytreasurer, Mr. C. Sandlant; referee, Mr. A. V. G. Wilson; handicapper, Mr. L. R. Poutawera; publicity officer, Mr. A. V. G. Wilson; delegate to W.M.R.A., Mrs. A. V. G. Wilson; auditor, Mr. R. D. Potts; selection committee, Messrs. Marshall and T^hT'official opening takes place on the range on Thursday, April 7, when two teams will be selected by the captain and lady captain respectively. Each member will ballot for handicaps and this will be added to his rifle: score. A small entry-fee will-be charged. This will be divided among the two highest scores of the winning team., The. number of shots will be seven, no sighter, >*nd the first two only marked. Steps are being taken to procure a "ladies' championship cup," on which will be engraved the names of past and present champions. . The winner of the special weekly competition was R. H. HUTT CLUB. The Hutt Miniature Rifle Club held its onenmg night last week. There was a P good attendance of old and new members. a*d the guests oi the evenina were the members of the wuw ValleT Frontiersmen Club. The proceedings took the form of a friendly shoot, all present participating. Two teams were drawn from the hat with Messrs. Parrant and Cropp as captains. The contest was very interesting throughout, ending with a win for Mr. CroprVs team by a small margin, Greater interest is being taken in miniature rifle shooting generally, the club having enrolled six new members.

BROOKLYN CLUB.

The shooting in the various grades of the Brooklyn Club has been very consistent, some excellent scores being The top scorers in club competitioA Grtde.-V. Abbott, 70; P. Chandler, 70, 68; H. Dore, 70, 70; K. Harrison, 70, 68; C. Hoffeins, 68; G. Jensen, 69; A. J. Westwood, 68. • B Grade.—R. Clayton, 69; G. Boddy, 68; R. Hendrickseri, 68; A. Ramsay,

C-Grade—Miss Harrington, 67; Miss E. Harrison, 65; J. Rawnsley, 66. Some of the new members are shaping very well,'and should develop into first-class shots, J. Rawnsley, Way. Home, and Stevens having recorded some satisfactory scores. The newly-formed air pistol range is having good support, Harrison, Bunting/Home, Jensen, Jamieson, Dore, and Mrs. Russell in particular shooting very well. K. Harrison leads with the best scores to date, with Bunting and Home running a close second. The club's innovation, indoor bowls, is also having good support, the members being very keen and enthusiastic about it. .

The club championship commences at the end of the' month and some keen shooting is anticipated. ■
