MEETING AT DUNEDIN

(By Telegraph—Press Association.)

DUNEDIN, March 24.

At a largely-attended public meeting convened by the Mayor (the Rev. E. T. Cox), at the instance of commanding officers of territorial units, it was this evening decided to form a Territorial Association to endeavour to raise the status of the territorial forces, and encourage a more general respect for the Territorial uniform, which was described as a subject of more sneers than admiration.

It was stated by several speakers that world conditions rendered necessary an active interest in the defence of New Zealand by all male members of the community.

A committee was set up to approve the objects and constitution of the association.
