HERE AND THERE
To Bid Bon Voyage. Mrs. R. Munro, Lower Hutt, who will leave next week for a holiday in Sydney, was guest of honour on Wednesday afternoon at a tea party given at the D.T.C. Tearooms by Mrs. W. Watkinson. The guests were all friends of Mrs. Munro and on behalf of them Mrs.. Watkinson presented her with a travelling ■ set. Those present ■■ -were Mrs. C- Bishop, Mrs. A. Webster; Mrs. J. Jowett,. Mrs. L. Hunt, Mrs.,.S. t Trenwith, Mrs. P. Boughtwood, .Mrs.' Ross, Mrs. C. Bennett, Mrs. Prangley, -Mrs. G. R. Kime (Levin), Mrs.; Francis Wood, and Mrs. Watkinson. . University Women Entertain. An afternoon tea party was. given recently at the University Women's Club.for iseveral overseas visitors, two of them, Mesdames Krauss and Pick, being university women. Mrj. Down received the. guests, who stated they Were not ; very conversant with the English'language, and would prefer tb; chat, informally with groups or individual members. In ithis way a very instructive'afternoon was passed. Mrs. Ruben played delightfully, and Madame;.Finlayson gave two elocutionary items in French. Miss E. Hind reciprocated with two elocutionary 'items in English, which were much appreciated by the visitors. Also present were Mesdames .Rothschild and Leyser.
